13 dead bodies recovered from Lidi landslide, search continues for 26 gone missing

Kathmandu - Thirteen dead bodies have been recovered from the landslide occurred at Lidi of Jugal Rural Municipality-2 in Sindhupalchowk district. Eleven dead bodies were recovered on Friday morning and two others today. Search for 26 others missing after the landslide is continuous.

Those identified so far are Tika Maya Dong, 3; Chhriring Dong, 14; Jite Jhankri, 80; Milan Dong, 8; Sanu Dong,5; Jay Bahadur Dong,70; Sanu Kanchhi Dong,30; Priti Dong,5; Dhanmaya Tamang Dong,34; and two babies, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police at District Police Office, Madhav Prasad Kafle.

The last rite of 11 dead ones was performed collectively today, said rural municipality chair Hom Narayan Shrestha, adding that security persons and locals were searching for the missing ones.
