CM Poudel inspects landslide-hit site

Kathmandu - Bagmati State Chief Minister Dormani Poudel has reached the landslide-hit area at Lidi along with the relief materials for disaster survivors.

A team comprising chief minister Poudel, minister for social development Yuwaraj Dulal, minister for industry, tourism, forest and environment Arun Nepal, former minister for law Sher Bahadur Tamang, state minister for finance and development Saresh Nepal reached the landslide-hit area to inspect the devastating incident.

Minister for social development Dulal shared that as many as 172 households are required to be shifted to the nearby secured places in a temporary manner and also pledged to do so promptly. He further said the local, state and federal governments would search for the appropriate land in a coordinated manner for the safer settlement of the landslide survivors.

As many as 12 local residents have so far lost their lives and 26 others are still missing in the landslide. The Bagmati State government has already decided to construct the houses in safer areas and hand them over to the flood and landslide survivors.
