Gandaki State government constructs 10 motorable bridges in a year

Kathmandu - Krishna Duwadi The Gandaki State government constructed 10 motorable bridges in the last fiscal year. Six bridges were built in Syangja and four in Kaski. The bridges were built at a cost of Rs 277 million 206 thousand 528 by the infrastructures development office under the Ministry of Infrastructure Development in State.

They were completed despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 and subsequent nationwide lockdown. Office chief and civil divisional engineer Shoviyat Khada informed that Biruwa Rural Municipality, Armadi, Phedikhola Rural Municipality, Putalibazaar Municipality, Bhirkot Municipality, Andhikhola Rural Municipality of Syanga had constructed the development infrastructures.

Similarly, Chisapani, Pokhara Metropolitan City-20, Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality, and Madi Rural Municipality of Kaski got motorable bridges. Engineer Khadka further said among the ten bridges two were handed to the government. Since the establishment of State government, the infrastructure office constructed 17 bridges in the two districts, according to him.
