Bhimphedi-Kulekhani route disrupted

Kathmandu - Traffic on Bhimphedi-Kulekhani road section along the Madan Bhandari Highway has been suspended due to a landslide occurred near Gadhi of Bhimphedi rural municipality last night. The highway remains as the shortest link road from Hetauda to Kathmandu. Incessant rain since yesterday triggered the landslide.

Area Police Office Bhimphedi's Inspector of Police Surendra Shrestha confirmed the obstruction of the route following the landslide. It is still heavily raining in the area and it seems not possible to immediately launch the efforts to clear off the landslide depositions, according to Shrestha. Following the highway disruption, vehicles have diverted to the Tribhuvan Highway.
