One killed, one injured in road accident

Kathmandu - A motorcycle rider died while the pillion rider was seriously injured in a road accident that took place at Kerkha last night. The accident involving a motorcycle (Me.10 Pa. 9826) took place at 11:50 in the night at ward no. 3 of Kamal rural municipality on the East-West Highway, police said.

The deceased has been identified Pradip Lamsal,27, the head of the Nepal Multipurpose Cooperatives Limited, Gaurigunj Chapter. He was a resident of Jhapa rural municipality-3.

Seriously injured in the mishap, Lamsal died on the way to hospital, information officer at District Police Office, Jhapa Rakesh Thapa said. Pillion rider Dharmendra Subedi,26, has sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to the Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar. Subedi is the head of the Shivagunj chapter of the same cooperatives.
