Chief of Bagmati State Prasain calls for intensifying search and rescue

Kathmandu - Chief of Bagmati State, Bishnu Prasad Prasain has expressed sorrow over the the loss of life and property in the flood and landslide incident occurred in Sindhupalchok. Issuing a statement here today, the Chief of State Prasain has urged the state government to expedite the search and rescue works and make them effective.

He also reminded the citizens to be cautious and the government to remain prepared as the risk remained. Meanwhile, the Bagmati State government is going to provide financial assistance to the families of the people who lost their lives in the landslide and flood incident in Sindhupalchok. The state government will announce the relief package to the families through a Cabinet meeting today.

Bagmati state government's minister for internal affairs and law Shalikram Jamkattel, minister for industry, tourism, forest and environment Arun Prasad Nepal and minister for social development Yubaraj Dulal had reached the flood and landslide-hit area in Sindhupalchok for overseeing rescue and relief works. They had reached there by helicopter.
