Landslide blocks Pushpalal Highway

Kathmandu - Vehicular movement on Baglung Burtibang road section in Baglung along the Mid Hill Pushpalal Highway has been suspended since last night as a result of landslide triggered by incessant rain.

The landslide along with rock falling caused by rain has blocked the highway at Righa Kauchhe of Galkot municipality-11, bringing the vehicular movement to a total halt, said ward chair Dambar Shris.

The landslide debris has been deposited up to around 20 meters along the highway. Vehicles en route to the western part of the district, Rukum and Rolpa are left stranded due to the highway disruption. Continues rain has hampered the efforts to restore the traffic, the local government said. Similarly, most of rural roads in the district have been out of use with the incessant rains.
