NCP be saved from division: Leaders from State-1 demand

Kathmandu - Leaders of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) from State-1 have demanded that the NCP be saved from split. "Division in the party would affect the entire party. So unity is a must," they said at a press conference organised here on Sunday.

They suggested that the party leadership should take initiatives to save the party from split while taking seriously the responsibility bestowed by the two-thirds majority people's mandate.

On the occasion, NCP central leader Guru Baral stressed the need for additionally strengthening the party by correcting any wrongdoings within while continuing the two-thirds majority government. Chairperson of NCP, Morang Rishikesh Pokharel underscored the need for party unity.

A memorandum would be submitted to both chairs of NCP KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' on behalf of district party, said Pokharel. On the occasion, a statement signed by chairpersons and secretaries of the NCP of 14 districts of State 1 was read out.
