NC asks govt to save lives of people during monsoon

Kathmandu - The Nepali Congress (NC) has expressed its sorrow over losses caused by natural disasters during this monsoon in the country. The main opposition party has demanded that the government create an effective mechanism and mobilise rescue teams to save lives of the people and reduce losses and provide treatment to the injured.

In a press statement on Sunday, he NC parliamentary party asked the government to identify more vulnerable areas and rehabilitate those families affected by landslides and flooding and provide compensation to them. Approximately two dozen people were killed and many others are left injured and missing in landslides and flooding in Bajhang, Palpa, Gulmi, Syangja, Gorkha, Lamjung, Darchula and Salyan. Dozens of houses have been damaged.
