PM Deuba tours historical palaces and forts in Oman
Muscat, Oman - Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba observed some of the famous historical palaces and forts here today. PM Deuba is currently on a three-day official visit to Oman.
The Prime Minister toured the historic Nizwa Souq Fort at Nizwa and the Jabrin Castle of the Imam Sheikh at Bahala, some 120 kilometres from Muscat.
In course of the observation tour, high official of the Government of Oman had provided information about the historic importance of the place to the prime minister.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Minister for Labour and employment Farmullah Mansur, Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Asha Koirala, among other members of the PM's delegation had accompanied the Prime Minister on the tour.
Before this, Prime Minister Deuba held high-level talks with the Oman government officials in Muscat. He also observed the Grand Sultan Mosque, the National Museum and the Royal Opera House in Muscat.
The PM arrived here via Abu Dhabi en route home after attending the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA.
PM interacts with Nepalis in Oman
Prime Minister Deuba has said that the remittance sent home by the Nepalis working abroad has provided big support to the country's economy.
He said this at an interaction programme with the Nepali community organized by the Embassy of Nepal in Oman today. He said overseas employment would be made reliable, respectable and safe through appropriate legislation.
Stating that the country would move forward towards the path of economic development after all the elections are held with the full implementation of the constitution, he said the Nepalis should not forget Nepal where ever they might be.
Minister for Labour and Employment Farmullah Mansur said he was working to making the foreign employment dignified and systematized by ending the anomalies seen in the sector.
Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, Asha Koirala, urged everyone to work sincerely from their respective places for the economic development of the country.
Nepal's ambassador to Oman, Sharmila Parajuli Dhakal opined that the Prime Minister's visit to Oman has taken the bilateral relations between the two countries to a new height. She added that she has been making every effort from her side for securing justice for the Nepali migrant workers who are victims of different foreign employment-related flaws.
