Fire at Inaruwa bazaar causes loss of over 100 million

Kathmandu - Property worth over millions of rupees was gutted in a fire that broke out at the Inaruwa bazaar today. Inaruwa is the district headquarters of Sunsari. The fire caused the destruction of two cloth stores, one hardware shop, one tailoring center and a finance building.

The fire emerged from the Hanuman Bastralaya located in Inaruwa bazaar later reduced other three shops and the finance building to ashes, according to Inaruwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Birendra Kumar Shah. Fire fighters from Itahari, Dharan, Biratnagar, Sundarharaicha, Saptari, Barahachhetra and Dubai extinguished the flame.

According to local trader Gulab Sharma, the fire is estimated to cause the loss of over Rs 100 million. As he claimed, security forces could not promptly respond to the fire as a fire engine owned by the Inaruwa Municipality was not in working condition.
