Small parties support constitution amendment

Kathmandu - Various smaller parties have extended their support to the 'Constitution of Nepal (Second Amendment) Bill, 2077 BS' in the meeting of the House of Representatives today. Addressing the meeting, Rajendra Prasad Lingden of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) said today was the day of happiness for all Nepalis as the nation is getting a new map with the amendment of the constitution. "We have forwarded the constitution amendment to adopt new map.

But doing only this much won't suffice. Now, talks have to be initiated for repatriating our land and all Nepalis should be united for the same," the RPP leader said. Durga Poudel of the Rastriya Janamorcha said the government has done a commendable job by implementing through the constitution amendment the new map that it has issued. She suggested enlisting the international support along with diplomatic initiatives in the coming days to take back our land.

Prem Suwal of Nepal Workers Peasants Party said the ancestors protected Nepal's territories through blood and sacrifice and it is the responsibility of the present generation to preserve and retain that. He called for publicising the map including Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani areas which India had encroached upon in the international community.
