SC orders to formulate all laws related to elections
Kathmandu - The Supreme Court (SC) has issued a mandamus order in the name of the government to immediately formulate laws required for the conduction of the polls related to the President, Vice-President and the National Assembly.
A divisional bench of Justice duo Deepak Raj Joshi and Hari Krishna Karki issued the order to formulate all elections related laws and conduct them by coming January 21.
Demanding the announcement of dates for province and federal parliamentary elections as enshrined in the Constitution by framing electoral laws, senior advocate Dr Chandra Kanta Gyawali and other advocates had filed writ petition at the apex court almost a year ago.
