Tana Sharma to be honoured with Lila Dhoj Literature Award

Kathmandu –Senior litterateur Tara Nath Sharma, popularly known as Tana Sharma in the Nepali literature, is to be honoured with the 'Lila Dhoj Literature Award'. 


Lila Dhoj Thapa Memorial Foundation decided to honour Sharma for his contribution to the development of Nepali and English literature, said its chairperson Bijaya Dhoj Thapa. 


The award which will be distributed on June 29 carries a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and a copper plaque. The octogenarian author had received the Madan Puraskar, most prestigious prize in the Nepali literature, for his famous travelogue 'Belayat Tira Baralinda' which means ramblings in and around Britain in English. 
(The late) Thapa (1978-2042 BS) had also won the Madan Puraskar, for his novel 'Mana'.
