Only Maoist and Janamat in the eight-party coalition government

KATHMANDU, March 1: Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', who became the Prime Minister with the support of seven parties including the UML, has now become the Prime Minister of an eight-party alliance. Prime Minister Prachanda joined the eight-party coalition on February 25, just a day before the nomination for the presidency.

Although Prime Minister Prachanda is the Prime Minister of the eight-party coalition, there are only two parties in the government. Only the Maoist center and the Janamat Party are in the government right now.

With the change in the balance of power due to the presidential election, there are only two parties in the government. After the government led by Maoist joined the Congress-led coalition, the partner parties of the coalition formed on December 25, CPN-UML, Rashtriya Swatantra Party and Rashtriya Prajatantra Party left the government, leaving only 2 parties in the government. The UML-led coalition formed on December 25 included the Maoist Center, Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), Janamat Party and Nagarik Unmukti Party.

In the current equation, there are Congress, Maoist Center, Unified Socialist, JSP, LSP, Janamat Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party and Rashtriya Janamorcha.
With the political equation changing, Prime Minister Prachanda is preparing to take another vote of confidence from the parliament and reorganize the cabinet. But as the presidential election will be held on March 9, Prime Minister Prachanda is planning to take a vote of confidence and reorganize the cabinet only after that.
