Caretaker PM Oli reshuffles Cabinet

KATHMANDU, June 4: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli reshuffled the Council of Ministers two weeks after the House was dissolved. 

In his recent reshuffle on Friday, PM Oli limited his Cabinet to only 17 members including the ministers and ministers of state. The Mahatha Thakur- faction of the Janata Samjbadi Party joined the Oli-led government on Friday. 

The newly appointed ministers were  sworn in at a ceremony held at the President’s Office in Shitwal Niwas on Friday itself. 

JSP leaders including Rajendra Mahato, Sarad Singh Bhandari, Anil Kumar Jha, Laxman Lal Karna, Chanda Chaudhary, Ekbal Miya, Bimal Shrivastav, Uma Shankar Argariya, Renuka Gurung and Chandra Kanta Chaudhary were inducted as the Cabinet members. 

Similarly, Bishnu Poudel, Raghubir Mahaseth, Sher Bahadur Tamang, Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Basanta Kumar Nembang and Lila Natha Shrestha belonging to the CPN-UML were also administered oath of office and secrecy on Friday evening.
