American support important for Nepal’s development: CPN chair Dahal

Kathmandu – Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the American people and government have an important role in the Nepal’s peace process and the constitution writing.
Nepal’s peace process is exemplary to the whole world, he said.
Chair Dahal said this during a meeting with US Ambassador Randy Berry who had gone to Dahal’s residence today for a courtesy call.
On the occasion, discussions were held on further expanding the bilateral relations between the two countries, US investment in Nepal, exchange of mutual cooperation and collaboration, Chairman Dahal’s private secretariat stated.
The former Prime Minister stated that the cooperation and goodwill of all was required with Nepal entering in the age of economic prosperity. He added that hydropower, tourism and agro-based industries were the primary agenda of a prosperous Nepal.
He expressed the belief that the Nepal-US relations would be further deepened during Ambassador Berry’s term in office.
The newly-appointed US Ambassador Berry opined that a stable government was a strong basis for investment in infrastructure sector of Nepal through the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
He said that the present time was the appropriate opportunity for the country’s development and expressed the belief that Nepal would get success in it.
