Undue power access suffers project implementation: Chief Minister Bhatta

Dhangadhi –Chief Minister of Far West Province, Trilochan Bhatta, has said the attitude of selecting development projects based on one’s access to power centre has created hindrances on effective implementation of the project.
At the provincial level capacity building on sustainable development friendly planning, monitoring and data gathering organized with the initiative of the National Planning Commission here today, CM Bhatta warned that if this trend is not ended, it would finally obstruct country’s path to prosperity.
According to him, the projects need to be planned as per people’s demands and needs that reflect the changed context. An effective monitoring is equally important, he underscored, “The influencing measures as nepotism and access to power centre badly affect the implementation of the project.”
He further underlined that the confusion as which level of government has the authority to select development project must be ended.
On the occasion, Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission, Dr Pushparaj Kandel, said the NPC has prioritized the activities as formulation of long term plan and fifteenth periodic plan, establishment of coordination among the governments, systematization of the data gathering and processing.
Provincial Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, Jhapat Bahadur Bohara, and province secretary Narayan Prasad Bidari also spoke on the planning and implementation relating to the sustainable development. (Photo available)
