Rastriya Swatantra Party Bagmati Province Elects New Leadership

Hetauda. 5 people have filed nominations for the chairmanship of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Bagmati Province. In the election program under the first convention of the RSP Bagmati Province, which started on Tuesday, 5 aspirants have registered their nominations for the post of one chairman. 

2 MPs along with 3 other individuals have filed nominations for the chairmanship of RSP Bagmati. In the nomination registration program held on Tuesday evening, incumbent chairman and Member of Parliament Dr. Achyutam Lamichhane, Badan Bhandari, incumbent spokesperson Utsav Aryal, HP Khatri, and Krishna Man Shakya registered their nominations. 

Shakya is a member of the Central Training Department, while Bhandari is a Member of Parliament and secretary of the Central Public Affairs Department. Following the dissolution of the provincial committee led by Lamichhane, the election committee published the schedule for the new leadership. Aryal, who is from Makwanpur and held the responsibility of provincial spokesperson according to the schedule, has filed a nomination for the chairmanship. 

Election processes have also been advanced for other office bearers and members, including the chairman. As per the RSP's statute, a 65-member provincial committee will be formed in Bagmati Province. The committee will have one chairman, one vice-chairman, and one general secretary, while there will be two joint general secretaries. It is stipulated that one of the joint general secretaries must be female and the other male.  

Similarly, office bearers including the treasurer and spokesperson will be selected. If elections are held according to the statute, voting will take place in two phases. In the first phase, the chairman and provincial committee members will be elected, while in the second phase, office bearers will be selected from among the elected members. 

Approximately 1,200 voters have been finalized for the election, informed Sumitra Pandit, a member of the election committee. She stated that necessary preparations are underway to commence the election program shortly.
