Rastriya Swatantra Party Suspends Madhesh Province Convention Activities

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has postponed all activities related to the Madhesh Province convention until further notice. The party's Central Election Commission issued an urgent notice on Tuesday informing about the postponement of the convention.

According to the notice, all processes have been halted for now to ensure that the Madhesh Province convention is conducted impartially, transparently, reliably, and according to the law. The commission has stated that all activities related to candidate selection, election schedule, candidacy process, publicity, meetings, gatherings, and convention organization have been postponed. The commission has taken this decision by exercising the authority granted under Articles 41 and 49 of the Party's Constitution 2079 (including the third amendment).

The Central Election Commission will later provide official information about the date, time, and revised schedule for the resumption of the convention. The commission has urged all party members, candidates, and leaders (workers) at the provincial and district levels to refrain from conducting any new activities related to the convention until further instructions.

A copy of the notice has also been provided to the Party President, General Secretary, Organization Department, Disciplinary Commission, and the Madhesh Province Committee.
