At Least 15 Police Personnel Martyred in Bannu Suicide Attack

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. At least 15 police personnel were martyred and three were injured in a suicide attack at Fateh Khel police station in Bannu district of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday night.

The attackers first launched the attack by crashing a vehicle filled with explosives into the police station. Then the terrorists carried out heavy gunfire from various directions.

According to Bannu Regional Police Officer Sajjad Khan, 18 police personnel were deployed at the station at the time of the incident. Of these, 15 were martyred and three were injured. According to local administrative officials, the terrorists also used quadcopter drones and heavy weapons during the attack.

The explosion was so powerful that the police station was completely destroyed. The armored vehicle at the station was also destroyed. Large-scale damage was also caused to surrounding buildings.

Emergency has been declared in local hospitals after the incident. Rescue teams are continuing rescue operations and the death toll is estimated to rise further. After the attack, the police cordoned off the area and started a security operation. 

Security has been tightened across the city and additional checkpoints have been established. Violent incidents have been occurring continuously in Bannu in recent months. Police, local security forces and citizens are repeatedly targeted in attacks.
