Gagan Thapa Discusses Provincial Government Matters with Sudurpaschim Leaders

Dhangadhi. Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has held discussions with members of parliament and ministers of the Sudurpaschim Province in Dhangadhi. Thapa, who reached Dhangadhi for a provincial gathering, engaged in dialogue focused on the provincial government's work, the upcoming budget, and internal party matters.

During the discussions, most Congress members of parliament demanded a change in ministers and expressed their desire for opportunities. They stated that ministers should be appointed from the Tharu community and that the tradition of concentrating budget only in the constituencies of ministers should be stopped. Some members of parliament also expressed dissatisfaction with the working style of Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah.

Chief Minister Shah and other ministers, however, claimed that preparations are underway to present a good budget, free from middlemen, despite limited resources. Chief Minister Shah also shared his views on the party's internal equations and factionalism.

After listening to the members of parliament and ministers, President Thapa indicated that he is not in favor of changing the government immediately. He instructed them to focus on budget preparation for now and clarified that a concrete decision regarding the provincial government would be made only after discussions with the CPN-UML in the coming days.
