Weather Forecast: Western Low-Pressure System and Local Winds Affecting Nepal

Kathmandu. Currently, Nepal is under the influence of a western low-pressure system and local winds, along with a low-pressure area near the eastern part of Nepal in the lower atmosphere, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated.

Due to this influence, there is generally cloudy weather in Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, as well as in the Himalayan and hilly regions of the country. The remaining Terai regions have partly cloudy weather. 

This afternoon, the Himalayan and hilly regions of the country will generally be cloudy. The Terai regions will have partly cloudy weather. There is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms in some places in the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in one or two places in the remaining provinces.

Tonight, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will generally be cloudy, and the remaining parts will have partly cloudy weather. There is a possibility of moderate rain with thunderstorms and snowfall in some places in the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi province, and in the Terai region of Koshi province, as well as in one or two places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of the remaining provinces, the Department has stated.
