14 Arrested for Gambling in Kathmandu and Lalitpur

Kathmandu. Police have arrested 14 people from separate locations in Kathmandu and Lalitpur while they were gambling. They were taken into custody along with cash and gambling materials from Tarkeshwor in Kathmandu and Chapagaun in Lalitpur.

Police arrested 10 people, including Prem Tamang, 35, from Dhading, who was living in a rented room in Tarkeshwor Municipality-10, Manmaiju, Kathmandu, while they were gambling. A team from Balaju Police Station recovered cash Rs 404,000, 7 decks of cards, and 17 pieces of cowries from them.

Similarly, 4 people were arrested while gambling in a house in Chapagaun, Lalitpur Metropolitan City-15. Among those arrested were Krishna Baraili, 45, from Bhojpur, living in Imadol, Lalitpur, and others. A team from Satdobato Police Station took them into custody on Friday night with cash Rs 149,300 and 15 decks of cards.

Police are conducting necessary investigations on all those arrested.
