Gagan Thapa Welcomed in Far-Western Nepal Amidst Internal Party Divisions

Dhangadhi. Some leaders from the faction of former president Sher Bahadur Deuba were found not to have participated in the Nepali Congress's Far-Western Province-level gathering and training program.

Party president Gagan Thapa, who reached the former president Deuba's home province for the first time after being elected in the special general convention, was grandly welcomed at the Dhangadhi airport by Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah and his ministers, who are considered to be from the Deuba faction. However, due to the party's internal dynamics, this welcome and gathering could not remain entirely controversy-free.

Although Chief Minister reached the airport to welcome Thapa, the Far-Western Province president of the Deuba faction, Bir Bahadur Balayar, and Kailali District president Narayandatta Bhatta were not seen at either the airport or the gathering.

It has been confirmed that President Balayar will not participate in the gathering, while District President Bhatta, who is also a National Assembly member, stated that he is in Kathmandu citing parliamentary work engagements. There is a possibility that some other district presidents from the Deuba faction may also ignore the gathering.
