Karnali Province Government Discusses Inter-Governmental Relations with Local Representatives

Surkhet. The Karnali Province Government has held discussions with local level and district coordination committee representatives here on inter-governmental relations. The discussion was held at the 'Coordination Meeting on Inter-Governmental Relations with the Federal Union of District Coordination Committees, Municipal Union, and National Federation of Rural Municipalities' organized by the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers' Office, Province Program Support Unit, in Birendranagar, Surkhet today.

In the discussion, Karnali Province Government Chief Minister Yamlal Kandel stated that the discussion was held with officials and members of the three levels of federations to seek suggestions, with the aim of coordination and cooperation for progress based on common understanding, interest, and support.

He said, "The coordination meeting was held to discuss policy and structural matters and the problems seen in implementation. We are in the process of improving existing flaws. All governments must work in accordance with the constitution. We need to move forward in collaboration when enacting laws directly related to local levels, follow the constitutional spirit of coordination, cooperation, and coexistence, and conduct discussions on technical and practical grounds to resolve existing problems."

Discussions were held on making the District Coordination Committee effective, adjusting the service facilities of members, revenue collection and distribution by local levels, laws to be made for excavation, collection, and export of riverbed materials in local levels, implementation of programs operated by the province, and the budget and programs to be determined by the province government's upcoming fiscal year 2083/084 policy and program.
