Tanahun to Update Records of Encroached Public Land

Tanahun. Details of encroachment of government and public land in Tanahun are to be updated. A meeting chaired by Chief District Officer Shivlal Tiwari, attended by district security bodies, local levels, and other stakeholders, decided to update the details of encroachment of government and public land and submit the progress after updating the details to the District Administration Office.

The Chief District Officer Tiwari said that the concerned local levels will identify who among the families residing by encroaching government and public land in the district are genuine landless squatters and who are not.

According to him, it has been decided that the concerned local levels will make arrangements for the genuine landless squatters who are identified immediately (arrangements for safe housing, healthy food, protection of privacy, medical treatment and counseling, housing rooms friendly to women and disabled persons, security arrangements, etc.).

Similarly, it has been decided that local levels can request the District Administration Office for the necessary security arrangements with a plan to manage the genuine landless squatters. Chief District Officer Tiwari said that the District Administration Office will arrange the necessary security to remove land encroachment in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs.

CDO Tiwari said that strict action will be taken to stop new encroachments on public and government land in various places in the district. He said that the District Administration Office will inform the general public about the work to be done by the concerned bodies for the removal of encroached government and public land.
