Former PM Dr. Baburam Bhattarai Exits Progressive Democratic Party

Kathmandu. Former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has exited the Progressive Democratic Party (Pratishil Loktantrik Party).

The party's Chairman Council meeting held on Thursday accepted Dr. Bhattarai's request to remain independent and support the overall alternative and transformative politics, and also wished him well.

The meeting's decision states - 'It was decided to highly respect and wish well to Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, who was previously the patron of the Progressive Democratic Party, as he informed the party that he wishes to support the overall alternative and transformative politics remaining independent without any organizational responsibility.'

The party has also decided to wish success in his future personal and political journey to Chairman Council member Suden Kirati, who gave a public statement stating he would not even be a party member.

The meeting concluded that upon reviewing contemporary politics and the House of Representatives election held on Falgun 21, it has become clear in a short time that the current politics and state power are not in favor of laborers, working people, and oppressed castes and communities.
