Supreme Court Full Court Convenes Amidst Chief Justice Recommendation

Kathmandu. After the Constitutional Council meeting recommended the name of Justice Manoj Kumar Sharma, who is fourth in seniority, for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court's Full Court (administrative meeting of all justices) convened this morning.

In the meeting of all present justices at the Supreme Court today, the justices expressed their respective opinions on the matter of the Chief Justice recommendation. Sources have stated that most of the justices present in the meeting expressed the view that the unexpected decision of the Constitutional Council meeting did not send a good signal.

However, some justices argued that there should be no complications regarding the recommendation. According to sources, two justices participating in the meeting said that we should not form an opinion at this time.

Due to the justices' Full Court, the cause list for cases was delayed by two and a half hours today. Although Justice Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, who was recommended for Chief Justice, was present in the court, he did not sit on the bench.
