At least 3 injured after blasts hit opposition election rally in western Bangladesh

DHAKA –At least three people were injured in bomb explosions Tuesday morning at an election rally of Bangladesh's largest opposition party in Rajshahi city, some 256 km west of Dhaka, a local police official said. 


An official of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police told Xinhua on condition of anonymity that three crude bombs exploded during the rally of ex-Prime Minister Khaleda Zia's Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Rajshahi city at about 10:00 a.m. local time, injuring three people including a journalist and a BNP leader. 


BNP staged the rally to drum up support for its candidates in the Rajshahi City Corporation Elections slated for July 30. Enditem
