Act related to child rights protection formulated: Minister Thapa Magar

Kathmandu –Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen Tham Maya Thapa Magar has said that the government has formulated the Act aiming to secure the rights and welfare of the children in the country. 


Responding to the queries raised by the lawmakers in today's meeting of the National Assembly, Minister Thapa Magar shared that a total of 899 children were rescued from various places across the country recently. 
She said that the works and polices relating to the social security and insurance for elderly citizens have been forwarded, expressing her commitment for elimination of violence against women instead of minimization such cases. 


The Minister elaborated, "Programmes would be launched ensuring end to violence against women and compensation to the victims. The Ministry would establish service centre in various places for senior citizens and Human Trafficking Control Centre will be opened in all 77 districts in the country." 


Minster Thapa Magar said that the Ministry has been carrying out monitoring of those organizations receiving grants to work in the sector of disability.
