Drug addiction taking toll on society: Province Minister Baral

Dang – Social Development Minister of Province No. 5 Sudarshan Baral has said that the drug addiction has brought about serious impacts on society. 

Drug addiction among youth has spread due to less attention of the parents and only laws were not sufficient for the control of the drug abuse adding that awareness was a must. 

At a mass meeting against drug abuse and addiction organized in Tulsipur on Tuesday, Minister Baral Magar said that smuggling of drugs should be brought to an end in the entire province and pledged to bring under the ambit law to those involved in the smuggling of the contrabands. "The province will consider this issue while making laws. All should think about its regulation," he shared. 

On the occasion, Province Assembly Member Uttar Kumar Oli, Mayor of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City Ghanshyam Pandey and other spoke about their moves against drug abuse and drug-free society. 

Mayor Pandey said that the Sub-Metropolitan City has unveiled the concept of 'Tobacco Free Tole' to control the sales and distribution, consumption and supply of the drugs.
