Woman Dies After Being Buried by Landslide While Digging Clay in Jumla

Jumla. A woman has died and another was injured after being buried by a falling mound of earth while digging clay for plastering a house in Jumla. This tragic incident occurred around 11 a.m. on Thursday in the Uthile area of Chandannath Municipality-9.

The District Police Office, Jumla, stated that two women were buried when a large mound of earth suddenly collapsed while they were excavating clay for plastering a house. According to Police Information Officer Shalikram Khanal, 47-year-old Krishnamaya Timilsena and approximately 40-year-old Tara Dharti were buried in the incident.

Immediately following the incident, local residents and a team from the Nepal Police rescued them and rushed them to the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences. Krishnamaya died during treatment, while Tara Dharti has recovered after treatment and returned home.
