South Korea's Employment Rate Sees Continuous Growth Over Last Five Months

Seoul. South Korea's employment rate has seen continuous growth over the last five months. This information was obtained from official statistics released on Wednesday.

According to the country's statistics ministry, the number of unemployed individuals aged 15 and over increased by 234,000, or 0.8 percent, reaching 28,413,000 in February.

This marks the fastest pace of expansion since last September, and the growth has continued for the 14th consecutive month since January of last year.

In terms of overall employment growth, the number of employed individuals in the age group of 60 and above increased by 287,000 on an annual basis in February, while the 30 and 50 age groups saw increases of 86,000 and 6,000, respectively.

However, employment for people in the 20 age group declined by 163,000, and employment for those in the 40 age group remained unchanged.
