Kathmandu Metropolitan City to Construct Grass Field at Tundikhel South Section

Kathmandu. The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is set to construct a grass field in the southern part of Tundikhel (the open ground south of the Army Officers' Club). The Public Works Department of the Metropolitan City issued a notice today, informing that the construction work will commence from Chaitra 8.

The grass field is being built in that location as per the approved budget and program of the Metropolitan City for the fiscal year 2082-83. The KMC stated that various festivals, sports activities, assemblies, ceremonies, and other public events scheduled in that area will be disrupted once the construction work begins.

The notice stated, 'Since festivals, sports activities, assemblies, and other programs conducted and organized in the said location will be obstructed, it is requested that alternative arrangements be made until the construction work is completed.'

As no programs can be held in that location during the construction period, the Metropolitan City has urged stakeholders to look for other alternatives.
