Three Dead in Nepal Due to Recent Storms and Lightning Strikes

Kathmandu. Three people have died in the last 24 hours due to disaster events (strong winds and lightning) following changes in the weather.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, three deaths occurred in 30 districts affected by strong winds, lightning, and hailstorms. One person died from a lightning strike, and two died due to strong winds.

Among a total of 41 disaster events, three people were injured by lightning and two by strong winds. According to the authority's spokesperson, Shanti Mahat, there were 17 incidents of strong winds alone and five incidents of lightning. The details published by the authority today mention that six livestock died in these incidents, and damages exceeded nine lakh rupees.

The weather in Nepal has been changing for the past week, bringing strong winds, lightning, and hailstorms. The Department of Meteorology has indicated that this trend will continue for a few more days.
