Israel Reportedly Strikes Tehran, Targeting High-Ranking Iranian Security Official

Israel reportedly carried out an airstrike in Tehran on Monday night, targeting Ali Larijani, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.

CNN reported this on Tuesday, citing Israeli sources. However, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have not confirmed whether Larijani was killed or assessed the extent of the damage from the attack.

On Tuesday morning, IDF Chief Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir stated, 'We achieved significant gains in Iran last night.' It is reported that the IDF launched a series of coordinated attacks simultaneously in Tehran, Shiraz, and Tabriz on Monday evening.

Although there has been no official announcement that Larijani was the target of this attack, the military stated that missile production sites and command centers in Iran were targeted.

According to Zamir, alongside the process of damaging and weakening military capability and industrial production capacity, actions will also be taken against elements related to the Revolutionary Guards and the regime's suppression system.

A few days prior, Israel also attacked Gaza, targeting senior leaders of the Iran-backed armed group Palestinian Islamic Jihad, targeting them.
