US-Israel Conflict with Iran Enters Third Week Amid Global Energy Crisis and Allied Disunity

Washington D.C. The war initiated by the United States and Israel against Iran shows no signs of stopping as it enters its third week. A severe global energy supply crisis has emerged after Iran blocked the vital Strait of Hormuz waterway using drones and naval mines.

The closure of this route, which transports nearly 20 percent of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas, has caused fuel prices to skyrocket in international markets, and the fear of inflation has begun to plague the global economy.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has expressed dissatisfaction with the indifference shown by some of his Western allies. Countries such as Germany, Spain, and Italy have rejected Trump's request to send warships to secure oil tankers while Iran continues to target oil fields and facilities in the Gulf.

Speaking at an event at the White House, Trump vented his anger, stating that countries the US has protected for years are not standing with them in times of crisis. He commented that while some countries appeared enthusiastic, the neglect shown by long-time friends saddened him.

According to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, German law does not permit sending any military assistance without a clear mandate from the United Nations, the European Union, or NATO. Merz also complained in Berlin that Washington and Israel did not consult with Germany before launching attacks on Iran. This has brought internal disagreements among Western powers to the surface.

The exchange of attacks continues from both sides on the battlefield. The Israeli military is bombing infrastructure belonging to the Iranian regime in Tehran and Hezbollah locations in Beirut. Israel has announced plans for this war to potentially extend for at least three more weeks.

On the other hand, Iran is demonstrating its defensive capabilities by launching missiles and drones against Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Operations in the UAE have been affected by drone attacks on the oil export port in Fujairah and the Shah gas field in Abu Dhabi.

Iran has issued a warning, stating, 'Any country whose territory is used by the United States to attack Iran's oil export hub at Kharg Island will also have its oil and gas infrastructure targeted.' This aggressive move by Iran has also startled the United States.

President Trump admitted that they did not anticipate Iran attacking neighboring countries like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait. However, US intelligence agencies had previously warned of potential retaliation against Gulf allies if Iran were attacked.

Since the war began, at least 2,000 people have lost their lives in West Asia, including more than 200 children from Iran. The risk of this war escalating into a more horrific regional conflict has increased following dozens of rocket and drone strikes on the US Embassy in Baghdad early Tuesday morning. The danger has grown.
