Hamas Urges Iran to Halt Attacks on Neighbors Amid Escalating Regional Tensions

Kathmandu. The Palestinian Islamist militant group Hamas called on Iran on Saturday to stop attacking neighboring countries. Meanwhile, Tehran continues to affirm its right to defend itself against Israel and the United States.

Hamas issued a statement affirming the Islamic Republic of Iran's right to respond to this attack through all available means in accordance with international rules and laws, while simultaneously urging it not to target neighboring countries.

Hamas, which has been fighting a devastating two-year war with Israel in Gaza, called for an immediate cessation of hostilities. The group had previously condemned the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the first day of the war as a 'heinous crime' and openly acknowledged its long-standing support for the Palestinian movement.

Despite facing significant attacks from the US and Israel, Iran responded by launching missile and drone attacks on at least 10 countries. Qatar reported intercepting two missiles on Saturday after hearing explosions in the capital Doha, with officials stating that some areas were evacuated.

Hezbollah entered the conflict following Khamenei's assassination, and since then, Israeli attacks have killed approximately 800 people in Lebanon, according to the country's health ministry.
