CPN-UML Recommends 16 Candidates for Proportional Representation to Election Commission

Kathmandu. The CPN (UML) has decided to recommend the names of 16 candidates for proportional representation to the Election Commission. Due to party Chairman KP Sharma Oli mourning the loss of his father, the meeting, chaired by Vice Chairman Ram Bahadur Thapa, finalized the proportional representation candidates.

Party Deputy General Secretary Lekhraj Bhatta, while making the meeting's decisions public, informed that the decision was made to send the names of 16 individuals based on clusters to the Election Commission. He stated that for the Indigenous Nationalities cluster, the names recommended are Bhumika Subba (female), Gangadevi Shrestha (female), Ram Bahadur Thapa Magar (male), and Kulbhakta Shakya (male).

Similarly, for the Khas Arya cluster, the names are Padma Aryal (female), Tukabhadra Hamal (female), Guruprasad Baral (male), Pushparaj Kandel (male), and Yashoda Kumari Baral (including Backward Region, Disabled, and Women cluster). For the Tharu cluster, it is Kripa Ram Rana, while for the Dalit cluster, the names recommended are Bishnumaya BK and Nita Ghata.

Furthermore, for the Madhesi cluster, the names are Ringla Yadav, Yashoda Kumari, and Chandreshwor Mandal (male). Sajida Siddiqui is recommended for the Muslim cluster, Deputy General Secretary Bhatta informed.

He stated, 'Today, the fourth meeting of the Secretariat was held under the chairmanship of our Vice Chairman Ram Bahadur Thapa, as the Chairman was bereaved by the loss of his father, and there were two proposals in the meeting. One was the decision on proportional representation and the second was a condolence proposal, and the decision on proportional representation has been recommended according to clusters. The meeting decided to recommend the names of 16 individuals to the Election Commission.'
