Arsenal Offers Lucrative New Contract to Key Midfielder Declan Rice

London. Arsenal, currently leading the English Premier League, has proposed a new attractive deal to retain their key midfielder Declan Rice at the club for the long term. The 27-year-old Rice still has two years remaining on his current contract, with an option to extend for an additional 12 months.

Nevertheless, the club has initiated the process for a new 'long-term' contract with the objective of inspiring him to spend the prime years of his playing career at Arsenal. If these initial talks are successful, Rice will move higher up the list of the club's highest-paid players.

Rice currently earns a salary of approximately  240,000 pounds per week. The club plans to increase his wages to match the level of Bukayo Saka, who recently signed a new deal earning 300,000 pounds per week.

Rice, who joined Arsenal in 2023 from West Ham for a record fee of  105 million pounds, has played 102 Premier League matches for the club so far. Considered one of Europe's best midfielders, he has also earned 72 caps for the England national team.

Arsenal has been investing heavily over the last 12 months to secure its star players. In addition to Saka, the club has already tied down William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, and other young talents to long-term deals.

Currently leading the title race, seven points ahead of Manchester City, Arsenal aims to make history by winning the league for the first time since 2004.
