Nepali and Indian Doctors Exchange Insights on Advanced Cancer Treatment Technologies in Nepalgunj

Banke. Doctors from Nepal and India exchanged experiences regarding innovative technologies in cancer treatment in Nepalgunj.

Max Super Speciality Hospital, Lucknow, India, in collaboration with the Nepal Medical Association (NMA) Bheri Chapter, organized an educational program in Nepalgunj for the exchange of knowledge and experience on advanced technologies in cancer treatment.

The Continuing Medical Education (CME) program titled 'Recent Updates in Oncology' concluded on Friday. Specialists presented on the latest advancements in cancer diagnosis, surgery, and modern treatment methods.

Dr. Shashwat Verma, Director of Nuclear Medicine at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Lucknow, presenting on 'PET-CT: A Precision Tool in Patient Care,' stated that state-of-the-art imaging technology plays a crucial role in the early detection and accurate staging of cancer.

Dr. Rahul Yadav, Director of Urology, Kidney Transplant, and Uro-Oncology at the same hospital, presenting on 'Robotics in Urology and Uro-Oncology: Our Experience,' mentioned that robot-assisted surgery makes treatment safer and more effective for patients with complex urological cancers.

In another session of the program, Dr. Shashank Chaudhary, Principal Consultant and Specialist in Surgical Oncology and Robotic Surgery at Max Super Speciality Hospital, speaking on 'Role of Robotic Surgery in Cancer Treatment,' informed that minimally invasive surgery aids in faster patient recovery.

Dr. Mukesh Yadav, Head of the Clinical Oncology Department at Sushil Koirala Prakhar Cancer Hospital in Khajura, Banke, presented on 'Role of Radiotherapy in Cancer Care,' discussing the importance of modern radiation therapy in treating various types of cancer.

It was noted by the doctors that Lucknow is about two and a half hours away from Nepalgunj, making treatment accessible for patients in Western Nepal.
