Family of Rape and Murder Victim Inisha B. Refuse to Claim Body Without Justice

Surkhet. The family of 16-year-old Inisha B., who was allegedly raped and murdered, has announced they will not claim her body until justice is served. Inisha, a permanent resident of Badakhola, Gurvarkot Municipality-6, was found unconscious on Saturday morning in the Janajagaran Community Forest, located north of Birendranagar Municipality-4.

Doctors at the Provincial Hospital declared her dead upon arrival. Her body is currently in the hospital's morgue. She was living with her family in Birendranagar Municipality-1. The family alleges that she was murdered after being gang-raped after leaving home Saturday morning saying she was going for tuition.

Inisha's father, Indra, who returned home after his daughter's death, stated that he will not claim the body until justice is delivered. He was abroad for employment. On Thursday, in front of the District Police Office, he said, 'A heinous crime has been committed against my daughter; she was raped and murdered. Justice must not die.'

He demands an impartial investigation. He further stated, 'The police officers have also assured me that justice will be served. My demand is that the rapists receive life imprisonment or the death penalty. If such a policy is not adopted, such incidents will continue to occur.'

Furthermore, he stated that he will not retrieve his daughter's body from the hospital morgue until justice is obtained. Police arrested a 16-year-old boy from the scene of the incident on Saturday, the day the incident occurred. This individual claims to have been in a romantic relationship with Inisha.

The victim's side filed a complaint on Falgun 24. Based on that complaint, other boys aged 15, 16, and 17 have also been taken into custody for investigation, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohanjung Budhathapa of the District Police Office, Surkhet.
