Blockbuster Film 'Dhurandhar' Re-released in India Ahead of Sequel Premiere

Kathmandu. The 2025 blockbuster film 'Dhurandhar' has once again been released globally. Ahead of the release of its sequel, 'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge', Jio Studios and B62 Studios have re-released the first part of the film across 250 screens in India starting today.

Starting tomorrow, the film will be shown on an additional 250 screens abroad, totaling 500 screens. The production team has taken this strategic step to generate further excitement among audiences for the sequel, which releases on March 19, and to refresh the old storyline.

The trend of releasing the previous installment before a sequel is considered highly effective in Hollywood and Bollywood. Previously, 'Gadar' was re-released before 'Gadar 2', 'Baahubali' before 'Baahubali 2', and the first 'Avatar' before 'Avatar 2' in Hollywood, creating significant hype. 'Dhurandhar' is also following the same path, aiming to boost advance bookings.

It is worth remembering that the first part of Dhurandhar created history by earning ₹1303 crore worldwide. In India alone, it set a record as the highest-grossing single-language Hindi film, collecting approximately ₹837 crore net.

It has already broken the record of Baahubali 2 by earning over ₹193 crore in the US and Canada alone. Despite being banned in Gulf countries, this film succeeded in becoming the highest-grossing 'A' rated film in Indian cinema history.

'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge' will be released worldwide on March 19 in Hindi, along with Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages. Since it is releasing coinciding with major festivals like Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, and Eid, it is expected that the long holiday period will benefit the film's collections.
