Singer Astha Raut Expresses Outrage Over Rising Rape and Murder Cases, Demands Justice

Kathmandu. Popular singer Astha Raut has expressed intense anger over the increasing incidents of rape and murder, appealing for unity in the fight for justice. Deeply saddened by the brutal murder of Inisa B.K. of Surkhet following gang rape, Raut shared her views on social media platform Facebook, questioning the silence of society and the state.

She concluded that such heinous crimes against women, who are considered forms of 'goddesses' in society, bring shame to the entire nation. Raut recalled the case of Nirmala Pant, who did not receive justice even after many years, stating that this is not just the pain of one family but a serious question linked to the security of every Nepali daughter.

She mentioned that the recent atrocity against Inisa B.K. indicates that criminals are still moving openly and society is heading in a more frightening direction. Urging that crimes like rape and murder should not be taken lightly, she warned that if voices are not raised today, any person's daughter could become a victim tomorrow.

Calling upon all citizens to speak with one voice against injustice and oppression, singer Raut demanded the harshest possible punishment for the guilty. She clarified that no country can be great without the respect and security of its daughters, asserting that the pressure and unified voice of the citizens cannot be suppressed. She believes that only today's strong voice can open the path to justice tomorrow.
