Missile Strikes Italian Military Base in Iraq; No Casualties Reported

Baghdad. A missile attack has targeted the Italian military base located in Iraq. Italy's Ministry of Defence provided this information via the social media platform X.

According to the ministry, a missile was fired at the base on Wednesday night. However, it was reported that no Italian soldiers were killed or injured in the incident and all are safe. Following the incident, the soldiers stationed at the base took shelter in bunkers for security.

Italy's Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, also confirmed in a separate statement that all military personnel are safe.

'Strongly condemn the attack on the Italian military base in Erbil,' Tajani stated. He added that such incidents increase the risk to regional security. It has not yet been clarified who carried out the attack, but it is analyzed that the Kurdistan region of Iraq is also facing security risks due to the ongoing tension in the Middle East.
