Lalitpur Local Representatives Express Strong Solidarity with Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa Amidst Internal Politics

Kathmandu. Local level representatives from Lalitpur have expressed strong solidarity with party President Gagan Kumar Thapa regarding the recent political developments within the Nepali Congress.

Issuing a joint press release on Thursday, the Mayors, Deputy Mayors, and Rural Municipality Chairpersons of Lalitpur stated that Thapa's leadership and guardianship are indispensable for the party in the current complex political situation.

The statement claimed that Gagan Thapa is the only suitable personality for upholding the glorious history of the Congress, navigating current political challenges, protecting nationalism and democracy, and playing an effective role in contemporary politics.

The representatives completely rejected the recently rumored resignation of the President, emphasizing the need for continuity of leadership for the strengthening of the party.

Those expressing solidarity include Chiribabu Maharjan, Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City; Rishidev Phuyal, Chief of the District Coordination Committee; Gajendra Maharjan, Mayor of Godavari Municipality; and Bir Bahadur Lopchan, Chairman of Bagmati Rural Municipality.

Similarly, Ganesh Bahadur KC, Chairman of Mahankal; Mina Adhikari, Deputy Mayor of Godavari; Laxmi Maharjan, Deputy Mayor of Mahalaxmi; and Rajan Ghimire, Vice-Chairman of Konjyosom, collectively urged Chairman Thapa to assume the role of guardian.
