Election Commission to Write to Parties Today for Proportional Representation Candidate Recommendations After Vote Count Completion

Kathmandu. Following the completion of vote counting (First-Past-the-Post and Proportional Representation) for the House of Representatives elections, the Election Commission is set to correspond with parties today to recommend candidates for the Proportional Representation (PR) category.

Election Commission Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai informed that after the vote counting concluded, the Commission will write to the parties today itself to recommend PR candidates.

'The vote counting has been completed. After the counting is finished, the Election Commission is currently in the process of collecting the vote counting reports from the respective constituencies,' said Spokesperson Bhattarai. 'After confirming the number of seats secured by the respective parties in the PR category, correspondence will be sent to the parties today itself to recommend candidates.'

The Commission has stated that once candidates are recommended by the parties and submitted to the Commission, the final list of elected members under the PR category will be determined after verifying compliance with legal provisions regarding inclusivity according to the respective clusters.
