CBI Summons Actor Vijay Again for Questioning in Karur Stampede Case

The CBI, which is investigating the stampede incident in Karur, Tamil Nadu, has once again summoned South Indian film star Thalapathy Vijay.

The investigating agency has asked Vijay to appear for questioning in Delhi on March 15. This is not the first time the actor has been called for questioning regarding this matter. Earlier this year, on January 12 and 19, Vijay appeared at the CBI headquarters. During these sessions, he was questioned for several hours.

According to reports, the CBI has summoned actor Vijay for questioning on March 15. The Karur MLA has also been summoned for questioning. The CBI stated that he will be questioned on March 17.

Both are expected to be questioned in Delhi. The agency will question them at different times in Delhi to clarify various aspects of the incident. The investigating agency is currently trying to determine who played a role in organizing the event and whether there were any lapses in security arrangements. Key individuals involved in the event have been questioned in this regard.

What is the Karur Stampede Incident?

In September 2025, Vijay organized a massive political rally in Karur. During this rally, a sudden stampede occurred in the crowd, creating a horrific situation.

41 people died in this incident, and more than 60 people were injured. Following this incident, many questions were raised about the role of the administration and those involved in organizing the rally. Considering the seriousness of the case, the investigation was handed over to the CBI. The role of the local administration was questioned after the stampede incident.

It is expected that the CBI's investigation will reveal more significant disclosures in the coming days. Many people have already been questioned in this case. The CBI had also summoned the Tamil Nadu Police personnel deployed for Vijay's security at the scene on that day.

The Tamil Nadu Police personnel were called to the Karur base camp for questioning. They were questioned about Vijay's activities and his movement timings on the day of the stampede. Furthermore, the CBI has also recorded the statements of District Collector M. Thangavel and Superintendent of Police K. Jose, who were present at the scene on the day of the stampede.
