Home Minister Aryal Meets Newly Appointed Chinese Ambassador Chang Maoming to Discuss Cooperation

Kathmandu. Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal held a meeting with the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chang Maoming, at the Ministry of Home Affairs. Ambassador Maoming visited the ministry for a courtesy call on the Home Minister after assuming his duties.

During the meeting, Minister Aryal congratulated the new ambassador on a successful tenure and praised the cooperation China has been providing to Nepal in the economic and social sectors. On the occasion, Home Minister Aryal emphasized the need for collaboration in new dimensions of technology and security to further deepen relations between Nepal and China.

He specifically proposed multilateral cooperation and collaboration for the development of the telecom sector and for controlling cybercrime, which is a growing challenge. Expressing confidence that China's expertise in technology would be useful for Nepal, Minister Aryal also anticipated further expansion of such cooperation in the future.

Chinese Ambassador Chang Maoming extended special thanks to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Government of Nepal for successfully concluding the recently held elections in a peaceful and fearless environment. Praising the role played by the ministry in election security and border management, the ambassador reiterated China's firm commitment to Nepal's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence.

He also committed to playing an active role in taking the historic relationship between the two countries to new heights during his tenure. In the meeting, Ambassador Maoming congratulated Home Minister Aryal for strengthening democratic practices by maintaining peace, security, and the rule of law in the country. Both sides reached an understanding to make border administration more effective in the coming days and to remain in continuous dialogue on bilateral security concerns.
